  1. These turned out really gross. Not a donut-like texture at all. I tried these as a way to save time, but they were nasty. i would've been better off with a yeast dough. They basically were like deep-fried biscuits, not a soft and chewy donut.

  2. Delish! Mine came out overdone, but that is because I'm brand new to fry cooking. (Hehe, I love to bake.) I think I'd like to share some of my newfound frying experience :p... A) A minute is not actually that long. Dough fries FAST. B) After putting dough into the hot oil, the oil will not get any hotter...so don't get too excited and start putting the dough in 25 degrees too early! (but still, they came out good) I doubled the cinnamon and added nutmeg and allspice like Bayhill did. Even though mine were overdone, they were still scrumptious...best when they were still warm!

  3. These little gems were yummy! They had a subtle, not too sweet apple flavor that my family really loved. I did double the cinnamon and also added 1/4 tsp. each nutmeg and allspice. The dough was very sticky, even after chilling so I had to use quite a bit of flour on my board when I was rolling out the dough. I think that next time I might add a little extra flour to the dough when mixing to make things a lot easier. Thank you for sharing this delicious recipe!! *Made for Comfort Cafe*

  4. These were simply scrumptious! They reminded me of the donuts you get at the cider mill - in fact I think they were better! This is the first time I made donuts and I thought the whole process was pretty quick and easy. I'll be making these again & again :)

  5. This was an excellant recipe. The donuts puffed up nice and tender with a sweet creamy after taste that every one liked. I tried a Racheal R apple cider donut recipe and this beats that one hands down. Thank you so much for making our Halloween special.
