After I got the hang of it these got easier to fry. I served with marinara instead of salsa.

Awesome! This was a BIG hit at my home. I used mozzarella cheese and took others advice and put them in the freezer after breading for a couple of hours before frying. Will make again and experiment with other cheeses. Thanks so much for sharing! Just what I have been looking for!

These are GREAT!! I too don't like the mess... so what I do is have one Ziplock bag with flour and then remove the cheese with thongs and I have another Ziplock bag with the crumbs and do the same with another pair of thongs. I close the Ziplock and shake before I fry... NOTE: Works well when you do this one piece at a time

I do a similar recipe with the same technique but I freeze them in a single layer on a pan lined with wax/parchment paper for an hour or overnight before frying them. It helps the coating "set" better. Then when you fry them the cheese doesn't ooze out as much before the batter starts to crisp up and brown. The build up of batter is not as bad if you use one hand for dry and the other for wet when doing the coating. I love fried cheese sticks. :)

These were good, instead of frying them I boiled them. I also served it w/salsa as suggested. The only reason it doesnt get a perfect 5* is when i kept doin the dippin (milk-flour-milk-breadcrumbs), i had to continuosly wash my hands, which was just aggravating to me.....the build-up kept getting bigger, and then it clogged my sink up!! Well I will be posting a pic of these in a few days.
