I made this recipe on 4/2/11 for the " Seafood Tag Game "in the TOM( Topic Of the Month)forum.Other than using 8 ounces of fish and cutting the ingredients in half, the recipe was made as it was written.Since neither my SO or myself care for sesame seeds those were left out.The fish that I used was flounder, which I think worked just fine. And frying in the shortening, made for a light and delicate finished product and not greasy at all.I will make this recipe again. Thanks for posting and, " Keep Smiling :) "

I made this with cod and it was tasty and gone as fast as I could take it out of the fry pan!!! We like tartar sauce so of course that was served on the side. Not greasy and nice and light! Not soggy at all! Yes, shortening worked great for me as well. Thank you and will be making it again. I always have sesame seeds on hand for my bagel making! Love it when I have all the ingredients!! Mmmmm....highly recommend this one! Outstanding!!! Jelly

This is a nice light recipe for frying fish. We really liked the light flavor from frying with the shortening. It seemed a lot less greasy than frying in vegetable oil. My son went absolutely nuts for this fish and just went on and on about how good it was. We skipped the sesame seeds. Next time I would reduce the milk a bit, perhaps 1/4 cup to get a little more breading but as it is written was excellent so I'm hesitant to change anything.
